CORNER COTTAGE is a characterful two-bedroomed single-storey, self catering town-cottage with an open-plan layout. It has been totally refurbished to provide many period-style features alongside modern comforts and conveniences.

This Holiday Cottage is perfect for friends or two couples holidaying together, or for family groups or those with children. For longer stays, such as if you’re working in the area, full on-site laundry facilities can be made available for you.

The open-plan living space incorporates the sitting room and kitchen/diner which are divided by a central feature fireplace.  There is a door off the Sitting Room to the main bedroom and double doors leading to the remainder of the cottage – the lobby. The 2nd bedroom and the bathroom are accessed via the Lobby.

The roof-windows in the kitchen-area, lobby and bathroom create a light and airey feel. From the Sitting Room and Kitchen there are pleasant views of the street and the church opposite from each of the front windows. There is a full-length mirror in the Lobby (opposite the bathroom), and you’ll find useful coat-hooks on the backs of all internal doors.

Property Description

Entrance

Just inside the front door there is a shoe-rack for your walking boots, and an umbrella-stand (complete with colourful umbrellas). There are also hooks for coats.

The Sitting Room

The sitting room is cosy, with comfortable seating for 4 people, making it perfect for relaxing after a day out enjoying the area.  There are pictures of local Suffolk scenes on the walls, and these may inspire you when choosing where to visit the following day. The Information Folder contains details of places to visit and includes directions, what there is to see and do there, and our recommendations of the best places to eat. The flat-screen Smart-TV is connected to the internet and so has additional (Freeview) channels plus Catch-Up TV such as BBC i-Player, and Radio Stations. It also plays DVD movies and music CDs. There is FREE Wi-Fi (wireless broadband internet access) throughout the cottage. On the bookcase is a well-stocked library of books, magazines and card/board-games, which may be useful for rainy days or lazy afternoons.

The Kitchen/Diner area

The recently refurbished farmhouse-style kitchen is fully equipped with all essentials. It includes a range-style dual-fuel cooker (electric double-oven and gas hob), a large fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, and a microwave. Small appliances include an electric kettle, toaster, and a coffee-maker or cafetiere. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, bakeware and other useful items. You will find initial supplies of tea, coffee, etc., and fresh milk on your arrival. Also provided is a kitchen towel, oven-mitts, plenty of tea-towels, and some larder essentials such as foil, salt & pepper, etc. The dining table seats 4 people, with space for a highchair if needed. Place mats and coasters are provided. A highchair is available at no extra charge by advance arrangement.

The Bedrooms

Corner Cottage comfortably sleeps 4 adults in its 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a 4’6″ bed. The pewter-coloured metal bedstead has a good quality sprung/memory foam mattress.   The other bedroom can be arranged as either a 5’ (kingsize) double, or as a twin-bedded room (with two 2’6” single beds). This gives you added flexibility. Just let us know which would suit you best at the time of booking. All bedlinen and towels are provided. The beds are made up for your arrival, with duvets, 4 pillows per bed, and crisp-cotton bedlinen. Freshly-laundered towels are laid out ready for you to use. Both bedrooms have plenty of hanging and drawer space. There are also useful items such as lamps, and a hairdryer. Babies are welcome and a travel-cot is available at no extra cost by advance arrangement.

The Bathroom

The refurbished bathroom is fully tiled with a pebble-beach theme.  The roof-window makes it feel light and bright. It also means there is plenty of space for your toiletries. The bathroom has a lower-level bath, and has a period-style shower over. There is also a modern low-flush toilet, a hand-basin, shaver-socket, and a light above the mirror.    The towel radiator will also give you cosy, warmed towels in winter! Large, soft home-laundered towels are provided.

The Courtyard

At the back of the Cottage there is an alleyway leading to a small Courtyard. The alleyway contains pot plants which have pretty flowers in summer. The Courtyard itself has a table and 4 chairs which can be used by guests staying at Corner Cottage. It may be welcome on hot summer evenings. There is also a covered area, which is useful for smokers too.

General Information
The entrance, kitchen/diner, bathroom and Lobby/utility area have tiled floors. The living room and both bedrooms have antiqued wooden floorboards on the floors, with rugs for comfort.

Heating
The Heating & Hot Water is provided by the gas Central Heating.  There are thermostatic valves on each of the radiators plus a room-thermostat, so you can easily control the heating yourself.

How to Book a Cottage

 

The Booking Procedure is very straightforward, and if you have any query - at any stage - just get in touch and we will help.

 

You can either Book ‘Online’ - making a Reservation via our website with an online payment of a £200 Booking Deposit per property. 

Or, you can book by email, or by phone - if you prefer to speak to an actual person, or have any queries to be answered first.

Use the Calendar below to check what dates are available first, then just click the ‘Book’ button to be taken to the secure card-payment page.

 

Tip: Our Weekly bookings are Friday to Friday, so Online Booking won’t accept any other start-dates. And, we usually only accept bookings for Short Breaks within about 2 weeks of the start-date, so Online Booking won’t accept Advance Bookings for Short Breaks.

Just call, text or email us with your details and your preferred dates, and we’ll get in touch to confirm, answer any queries, and process your Booking for you.

If you book by phone or email, your Reservation will be made by a manual blocking out of dates on our Calendar. A Payment-Link will then be emailed to you for you to make a Card-payment - putting in your own Card details using a secure WorldPay Payment-Portal. Payment will be due immediately to secure your dates (particularly if a ‘last minute’ Booking).

 

You will either pay the Booking Deposit (of £200 per property) with a later payment of the rental-balance, or full payment (depending on how long before the Arrival-date you make the Booking). Full payment is required if the Booking is within 8 weeks of the Arrival date.

 

Whichever way you choose to make your Reservation, we will contact you to confirm the details and process your Booking - email you a Booking Confirmation, and a Booking Form for you to complete and return to us, and let you know when the Rental-balance is due (if applicable).
