The Cottage has been totally modernised throughout whilst keeping its character. It is light and airey, with a pleasant views of the Victorian houses in the street from the front windows. There are many charming period-style features, such as the exposed flint wall in the Living Room area, the vaulted ceiling with chandelier in the bedroom, and exposed oak beams throughout.

Property Description

CHAPEL COTTAGE – Ground Floor

The ground floor of Chapel Cottage is compact and cosy – just perfect for one person, or a couple. The open-plan living space incorporates the sitting room/dining area, with a small kitchen off.

Entrance

The front door to the cottage is through the outer door on the street, via a cover alleyway – where coats and umbrellas can be hung.

Sitting Room area

The sitting room area is cosy, with comfortable seating for two people – perfect for relaxing after a day out enjoying the area. The pictures of local Suffolk landmarks on the walls will inspire you when choosing where to visit the following day, and the Information Folder contains details of locations, with directions, what there is to see and do there, plus our own recommendations of the best places to eat out. The flat-screen Smart-TV is connected to the internet and so has additional (Freeview) channels plus Catch-Up TV such as BBC i-Player, and Radio Stations. It also plays DVD movies and music CDs. On the bookcase in the hallway/entrance area, there is also a small library of books, magazines, OS maps of the locality and card/board-games for guests to use.

Kitchen Area

The kitchen area, although small, is fully equipped with all essentials – including an (electric) oven/grill and a (gas) hob, and a small fridge/freezer. Small appliances include an electric kettle, a toaster, and a Tassimo coffee machine. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, bakeware and other useful items, plus initial supplies of tea, coffee, etc., and fresh milk on arrival. Also provided is a kitchen towel, oven-mitts, plenty of tea-towels, and some larder essentials (such as foil, salt & pepper, etc.).

Dining Area

The dining area has a table and two chairs, and overlooks the street into Chapel Road and the period houses beyond through the large front window – which makes the room light and airey. Perfect to watch the world go by, as you relax over breakfast. The table extends, should you want more space. Heat-proof table/place mats & coasters are provided, stored on the shelf under the table.

CHAPEL COTTAGE – First Floor

The stairs lead you to the upper floor of Chapel Cottage, where there is the bedroom and the bathroom. The landing has a small window which overlooks the rooftops and the street below.

The Bedroom

Chapel Cottage comfortably sleeps up to 2 adults in its 4ft double bed. The bedroom is deceptively spacious with its high vaulted ceiling, and the gun-metal grey chandelier with glass lanterns is a real feature. All bedlinen and towels are provided. The bed is made up for your arrival, with a duvet, 4 pillows, and crisp-cotton bedlinen. Freshly-laundered towels are laid out ready for use.  There is some hanging space and plenty of drawer space, plus useful items such as lamps, and a hairdryer.

The Bathroom

The bathroom is half-tiled, and has a seaside theme – with starfish tile-borders and beach-pebble design flooring.  It has a 5ft bath with a shower over, a modern (low-flush) toilet. You’ll also have a hand-basin with shaver-light above the mirror, and plenty of space for your toiletries. Large, fluffy, home-laundered white towels are provided for you.

Outside space

There is a covered area outside the front door to Chapel Cottage, with coat-hooks where walkers’ sticks and outdoor coats can be hung. This area is for the use of guests at Chapel Cottage only. At the end of the alleyway is a small Courtyard area with patio table and chairs, where guests can sit in warm weather. This facility is shared with guests staying in the adjoining Holiday Cottage.

General Information
The living/dining room area and the stairs is carpeted, the kitchen floor is tiled, the bathroom has vinyl flooring, and the landing and bedroom have wooden floorboards on the floors, with rugs for comfort.

Heating
The Heating & Hot Water is provided by the gas Central Heating.  There are thermostatic valves on each of the radiators plus a room-thermostat, so you can easily control the heating yourself.

General Information

Bicycles:
The is space for up to 2 adult bicycles to be stored securely, single file, in the covered alley between the outer door and the front door to the Cottage.

 

Dogs: 

Any dog must be agreed prior to Booking. Only a small/very small dog (May to September) would be suitable to stay in Chapel Cottage.  If you would like to bring your dog, please contact us before Booking.

Extra beds:
No extra beds can be provided. We do not allow sofas to be used for additional bed-spaces.

 

Children & Infants:
Not permitted, as Chapel Cottage is not suitable for children.
